How do we continue to create opportunities for our Cricket customers? It starts with creating opportunities for our people. In a company driven by the power of ideas and knowledge, it’s critical to provide our employees with access to the latest information, educational opportunities and skill-building resources that can help them meet their goals. Cricket’s Learning and Development initiatives do just that. Whether employees are seeking technical or systems training, new device tutorials, management training or more, it is our goal to help them build core competencies that will help them reach their career goals at Leap and at Cricket – as well as in their lives.
Cricket University is a comprehensive online resource that is designed to support our employees’ training and education needs. Training courses address three basic categories: functional and technical training (systems training, procurement, IT, sales and operations, etc.), product and sales knowledge (sales techniques, launches of new devices and service plans), and professional and leadership skills (communications, time management, writing and presentation skills, etc.). We recognize that different individuals have different learning styles and time constraints, so we offer instructor-led courses, online courses, skills-based coaching, practice coaching, training materials and more. Employees can also build Learning Plans, customized road maps to prepare for the future position of his or her choice.
At Cricket, we believe that every employee, at every level, has the potential to be a leader. With Leader U, we have invested in building leadership skills and competencies across our organization. This online database includes recommended courses, electives and training materials organized to develop individual competencies across five levels of leadership. Podcasts, articles, market research and discussion forums offer employees a variety of tips, strategies and insights, and our “Profiles in Leadership” video series spotlights influences, turning points and inspiration from our senior management team. We’ve also integrated a social networking component to help employees establish and create a collective tool set, so that each of us can leverage our individual expertise to teach our colleagues.
